Our Vision

“Creating a more inclusive food environment” is our mission at the Gluten Free Life Association.

We make many choices every day, including what we eat. The choices available to us can expand as our knowledge of health grows.

The most important part of a healthy diet is to choose foods that suit your body. The first step is understanding what those foods are.

Our goal is to help everyone understand what dietary choices are available to them so they may make their most informed decisions.

Message

“Creating a more inclusive food environment.”

“Personalized food”, a diet tailored to each person’s preferences, health, lifestyle, and physical makeup, has been attracting attention recently. Among our many food options, it’s important to choose those that better suits our needs.

The Gluten Free Life Association was established in 2013, motivated by a relative with gluten sensitivity. At the time, “Gluten-free” was an almost unknown idea in Japan, even while it was widely recognized in the US and Europe. It was difficult to find information on what foods would be safe, and there were probably many in the same situation.

The meaning of the Chinese character for “food” is wellness. Having the right foods available leads to feelings of wellness. We will continue to work to provide useful information for those who may need it.
